eyenov developed a state of the art algorithm for people counting using the Microsoft Kinect 2. This technology uses a proprietary depth multi-slicing, aggregation detection and tracking algorithm to achieve outstanding results while keeping the solution running in real time. The below video shows the technology in use at an impressive ~32 frames per second rate.
